Vaikrant (Manganese or Tourmaline) Purification

The purification of Vaikrant (Manganese) can be achieved through two distinct methods:

  • The first method involves breaking Vaikrant into smaller fragments. These fragments are then grasped with tongs and heated until they reach a red-hot temperature. Following this, the heated pieces must be immersed in horse urine a total of 21 times.
  • The second method requires wrapping Vaikrant in a cloth and subsequently submerging it in a container filled with Nimbu Rasa (lemon juice). This technique, known as sweden, is performed over the course of one day. Alternatively, this process may also utilize a decoction of horse gram, the urine of various animals such as cows, the juice extracted from banana root trees, or a mixture of Sajji kshar (alkali from Seidlitzia stockssi), Yavakshar (alkali from barley), Tankan (borax), and five different types of salts. These components should be combined and placed in a Dola Yantra (an instrument used in alchemical laboratories) for Sweden over a period of three days.
