Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) is a gastrointestinal condition characterized by symptoms such as diarrhea, constipation, abdominal discomfort, and, in more severe instances, the presence of mucus in the stool. The consumption of dairy products, chocolate, citrus fruits, and alcohol can exacerbate these symptoms, potentially leading to significant constipation and diarrhea. Additionally, stress is a prominent factor associated with IBS. By adopting appropriate lifestyle changes and dietary modifications, individuals can more effectively manage their symptoms. A diet rich in fiber is beneficial as it helps to increase stool bulk and supports regular bowel movements. It is advisable to limit the use of laxatives, antibiotics, caffeine, and foods high in fat, as these can interfere with the proper functioning of the digestive system.
