Gout is a form of inflammatory arthritis that arises from elevated levels of uric acid in the bloodstream. This condition can lead to the formation of uric acid crystals, which may accumulate in the joints, resulting in pain, tenderness, irritation, inflammation, and redness, particularly in the big toe and fingers. The condition is referred to as gout. Consumption of high-purine foods, seafood, and foods high in fat can contribute to the buildup of uric acid in the joints. Adopting a diet low in purines and fats can assist in maintaining a healthy weight and preventing the onset of gout.
