Diarrhea is characterized by an increased frequency, fluidity, or volume of stool compared to normal. The BRAT diet, which consists of bland, low-fiber, and low-fat foods, is beneficial in replenishing nutrients lost during episodes of diarrhea. However, it is advisable to avoid high-fiber diets, spicy foods, dairy products, artificial sweeteners, raw vegetables, and fried foods, as these may irritate the digestive system and exacerbate the condition.
