Diabetics Liver

Diabetes can lead to a variety of liver diseases. The liver plays a crucial role in the production and storage of glucose based on the body's requirements. An excessive buildup of fat in the liver diminishes the organ's sensitivity to insulin, resulting in elevated blood glucose levels, which can exacerbate diabetes. Additionally, the presence of liver fat can incite detrimental inflammation, leading to the formation of scar tissue and other liver-related ailments. Diet is a vital factor in the management of both diabetes and liver diseases. For individuals with diabetes and chronic liver disease, a diet that is moderate in protein, low in carbohydrates, and low in fat is often recommended, as it appears to effectively manage both conditions. It is advisable to avoid simple sugars, sweets, carbonated beverages, caffeine, alcohol, fried foods, and excessively salty items.
