Childhood Asthma

Chronic inflammation of the lung airways characterizes this condition, leading to increased mucus production and breathing difficulties. Various factors contribute to childhood asthma, including allergens, irritants, and changes in weather, and infections that result in airway inflammation.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CHILDHOOD AND ADULT ASTHMA

Children diagnosed with asthma often experience intermittent symptoms, although some may have daily manifestations. Their heightened sensitivity to allergens and susceptibility to asthma attacks can be attributed to their developing bodies. In contrast, adults typically experience persistent symptoms, necessitating daily management to control asthma symptoms and prevent exacerbations.

A diet rich in vitamins A and D, as well as magnesium, is recommended. Magnesium is particularly beneficial due to its bronchodilating and anti-inflammatory properties. Additionally, maintaining an ideal body weight is crucial, as obesity is associated with asthma. It is advisable to avoid junk food and any dietary items that may trigger the symptoms of the condition.
