Celiac Disease

Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder wherein the ingestion of gluten prompts an immune response that damages the mucosal lining of the small intestine. Initial symptoms may include gastrointestinal disturbances, fluctuations in weight, anemia, and joint discomfort, among others. Gluten is found in various grains.

The potential health advantages associated with a gluten-free diet often encourage individuals without these conditions to eliminate wheat and other gluten-containing grains from their diets. Adhering to a gluten-free diet necessitates meticulous scrutiny of both food ingredients and their nutritional profiles. This dietary approach is primarily advised for individuals diagnosed with celiac disease, wheat allergies, or gluten intolerance. Continued consumption of gluten by those with celiac disease can lead to serious complications, including multiple sclerosis, infertility, and various neurological disorders.
