Anemia

Anemia is a nutritional disorder characterized by a decrease in hemoglobin levels, primarily resulting from deficiencies in iron and specific vitamins. The condition arises due to insufficient amounts of iron, vitamin B12, and folic acid, all of which are essential for the synthesis of red blood cells. While some individuals may attempt to incorporate these nutrients into their diets, they may still experience anemia due to the intestine's inability to effectively absorb them. Anemia can be attributed to three primary factors: blood loss, inadequate production of red blood cells, and increased destruction of red blood cells. Certain diseases, such as celiac disease and Crohn's disease, can impair the small intestine's capacity to absorb nutrients. Therefore, maintaining a balanced diet is crucial for promoting overall health.
