Adenomyosis

Adenomyosis is a condition characterized by the invasion of the uterine lining into the myometrium, the muscular wall of the uterus. This condition can result in significant menstrual bleeding, cramps, bloating, swelling, pain, and an enlarged uterus. According to the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom, approximately 1 in 10 women are affected by adenomyosis, with a higher prevalence in those aged between 40 and 50 years. While the precise cause of adenomyosis remains unclear, it is often linked to elevated levels of the estrogen hormone. It is essential for individuals with adenomyosis to adhere to a balanced and nutritious diet. Consumption of spicy and fried foods may exacerbate pelvic congestion and inflammation, potentially leading to dysmenorrhea.
