What is Delayed Ejaculation?

Delayed ejaculation is a medical condition in which a man find it difficult to reach an orgasm and ejaculate semen during penetrative sex. Even, Some men unable to release semen from the penis. Signs & Symptoms of Delayed Ejaculation

Delayed ejaculation occurs when a man needs more than 30 minutes of sexual stimulation to reach orgasm and ejaculate. Ejaculation is when semen is discharged from the penis. Some men can only ejaculate with manual or oral stimulation. Some cannot ejaculate at all.

A lifelong problem with DE is very different from a problem that develops later in life. Some men have a generalized problem in which DE occurs in all sexual situations.

For other men, it only occurs with certain partners or in certain circumstances. This is known as “situational delayed ejaculation.”

In rare cases, DE is a sign of a worsening health problem such as heart disease or diabetes.

Risk Factors of Delayed Ejaculation

A number of things can increase your risk of having delayed ejaculation, including:

  •  Older age — as men age, it's normal for ejaculation to take longer
  •  Medical conditions, such as diabetes or multiple sclerosis
  •  Psychological conditions, such as depression or anxiety
  •  Medications, particularly certain antidepressants, high blood pressure medications or diuretics
  •  Certain medical treatments, such as prostate surgery
  •  Relationship problems, such as poor communication with your partner
  •  Excessive alcohol use, especially if you're a long-term heavy drinker

Diagnosis of Delayed Ejaculation

Delayed ejaculation is diagnosed when a man is concerned about a marked delay or infrequency of achieving ejaculation during most sexual encounters over a period of 6 months or more, and when other problems have been ruled out.

To reach a diagnosis, a doctor will speak with the individual about symptoms and how often they occur. They will then rule out other potential medical problems, such as infections, hormonal imbalance, and so on. This may involve using blood and urine tests.
