Diet Care for Hypotension

Low blood pressure or hypotension may cause inadequate blood flow to the heart, brain, and other vital organs. Low blood pressure is a condition where the systolic and diastolic pressure falls below 90 and 60 (mmHg) respectively. A sudden drop in blood pressure often occurs when someone suddenly rises from a lying down or sitting position. This is called postural hypo-tension and may cause light-headedness and dizziness. A low carbohydrate, high fiber, and low fat diet, is recommended to hypotension patients.Avoid eating lots of high carbs foods, unhealthy fats, fried food, junk food, processed foods, and preserved foods, caffeine, and alcohol as they can lead to low blood pressure.

Early Morning

8-10 pieces soaked raisins wth Almond- 5 pieces

After 15 min - Tulsi tea / Herbal tea

Breakfast

Dalia / Veg Upma / poha / Besan chila (chickpea flour) / Veg / Suji chila (Semolina) / Stuffed Chapatti / Chapatti with veg or Dal / 1- egg’s white part only

Mid-Morning

Fruit / Coconut water / Herbal tea / Green tea / Salad

Lunch

Plain chapatti / Mix chapatti / Boiled Rice / Veg with Dal,Curd and Steamed salad

Evening
